Editor's Note

Late summer is when this island reveals itself. The crowds thin. The light drops lower and the shadows grow longer. After months of heat and noise, Mallorca returns to its own rhythm. If you're still here, you feel it.

This is Issue 02. A journal made in that window.

We visited Cassi and Iwo at L'Espai, a concept store and community space that operates on a principle worth protecting. That commerce and culture don't have to be separated. That a room full of well made things can also be a room where people meet, think and stay. We spent time with Scarlet Allensperger at Son Selva, a permaculture farm where regeneration isn't a slogan but a daily practice. Soil, system, patience. It is a way of working that deserves more attention than it gets.

Ses Talaioles wine farm opened their doors to us. A finca rooted in the Mallorcan earth, making wine with the kind of quiet conviction that needs no explanation. And Simon Chaput, an art photographer whose images carry weight. Still, composed, uninterested in trends. Work that asks you to look properly.

Then there is the Llaüt. Mallorca's original boat. Not designed to impress, designed to work. Wood, function, grace. It has outlasted every fashion this island has seen and it will outlast the next ones too. We wrote a love letter to it because it deserved one.

We are privileged to be here. Not as visitors, but as participants in a place and a community that still values what is made by hand, what is grown from the ground, what is created slowly and with intention. Es Mercat exists because of that. Not as a brand or an event, but as a gathering point for people who believe the work matters more than the noise around it.

The light is golden. The table is set. Es Mercat Edition 03 is on October 3rd from 4 to 11pm. Join us to celebrate the late summer together.
